Belmont and Columbiana County bridges to be inspected
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Tuesday, June 11, 2013) – Beginning next week, four bridges in Belmont County and four bridges in Columbiana County will be inspected during daytime hours by an ODOT crew and a snooper truck, weather permitting, as part of the Department’s annual routine bridge inspection process.
On Monday, June 17th, officials will inspect the bridge on State Route 872 over the Norfolk & Southern Railroad to the Moundsville Bridge at Dilles Bottom in Belmont County.
On Tuesday, June 18th, the Interstate 70 bridge over the Wheeling Creek near Bridgeport in Belmont County will be inspected.
On Wednesday, June 19th, the I-470 bridge over SR 7 and the Ohio River in Belmont County will be inspected.
On Thursday, June 20th, officials will inspect the SR 7 bridge over the Norfolk & Southern Railroad at the south end of Shadyside in Belmont County.
The crew will move to Columbiana County on Friday, June 21st, to inspect the U.S. Route 30 bridge over the railroad and ramp to Pennsylvania at East Liverpool.
During this work, traffic will be restricted but maintained at all of these locations.
In addition, three other bridges will be inspected at East Liverpool in Columbiana County the week of June 24th – one on U.S. 30 adjacent to the ramp to Pennsylvania and two on SR 39 in the same vicinity.
