ODOT Seeks Comments on State Route 212 Roadway Improvements in Tuscarawas County
(NEW PHILADELPHIA, OHIO) --The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 11 is proposing improvements to State Route 212 within the village of Zoar and Lawrence Township, Tuscarawas County.
This proposed project will install a steel H-pile retaining wall encased in concrete and approximately 1,746 feet long from Michael Lane (Twp. Rd. 123) to just east of the Norfolk & Western railroad bridge to repair a landslide. Additionally, about 1,790 feet of pavement and guardrail will be replaced on the eastbound lane of SR 212.
Traffic will be maintained during construction which is anticipated to begin next spring. New right of way will be required to complete the project.
ODOT is seeking comments from the public about the social, environmental and economic impacts of the proposed project. Environmental impacts include impacts associated with architectural and ecological resources, hazardous materials and the general location of the project.
