State Route 164 south to be restricted at Salineville for emergency slip repair work
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Tuesday, June 14, 2011) – Work will begin Thursday, June 16th, to repair four embankment failures along State Route 164 in Salineville, Columbiana County, due to excessive rains this spring.
Traffic will be maintained with flaggers.
ODOT's contractor, Ruhlin Company, from Sharon Center, Ohio, will be installing four gabion walls on SR 164 south as well as repairing the guardrail and pavement as needed.
This project, estimated to cost $400,000, is being funded by federal emergency monies due to the major rainfall events in April. Officials anticipate completing this work in four weeks.
