Resurfacing Work to Begin on U.S. Route 250 and State Route 93 through Strasburg
(NEW PHILADELPHIA, OHIO) --The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 11 will begin work Sunday evening, June 21st, to resurface U.S. Route 250 and State Route 93 through the village of Strasburg in Tuscarawas County.
About five miles of U.S. 250 will be resurfaced from the Stark County line to just east of the Interstate 77 Interchange, and SR 93 will be resurfaced from the junction of U.S. 250 to the Stark County line. Traffic will be maintained with flaggers.
ODOT District 11 Deputy Director Dick Bible, P.E. said, "To minimize delays caused by this work, we've restricted the contractor to work during off-peak travel times." Therefore, work will only take place between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. No work will occur over the weekends.
ODOT’s contractor for this $1.1 million project is The Shelly Company, from Thornville, Ohio, and the completion date is August 31, 2009.
ODOT reminds motorists to SLOW DOWN for the "Cone Zone;" turn on headlights and drive carefully in work zones. Drive responsibly for your safety and the safety of the highway workers. Remember, fines in work zones are doubled for not obeying traffic signs. Minimize distractions – turn OFF cell phones in construction zones. Remember to always buckle up.
