State Route 524 to be closed for landslide repair project
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Monday, June 15, 2015) – State Route 524 will be closed next Monday, June 22nd, north of Bergholz in Jefferson County for a $1.1 million landslide repair project.
Beginning at the intersection of SR 524 and SR 164, traffic will be detoured north on SR 164 to SR 39 west back to SR 524, and reverse.
The road is expected to be closed for 60 days, while ODOT’s contractor, Ohio-West Virginia Excavating Co., from Shadyside, Ohio, constructs a 1,090 foot retaining wall, new pavement, and guardrail.
The completion date for the project is August 31, 2015.
