ODOT seeks comments on proposed State Route 148 bridge project in Belmont County
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Thursday, June 17, 2010) – The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 11 is proposing improvements to State Route 148 by rehabilitating an existing bridge over Mike’s Run located about two miles west of State Route 145 in Belmont County.
Construction will include sliding a precast concrete box culvert through the existing structure, minimal approach work, and guardrail. Additionally, rock channel protection will be installed, and two trees will be removed as part of this project.
Traffic will be maintained during construction. Construction is anticipated for next summer. No new right of way will be acquired to complete the project.
ODOT is seeking comments from the public about the social, environmental and economic impacts of the proposed project. Environmental impacts include impacts associated with architectural and ecological resources, hazardous materials and the general location of the project.
