State Route 643 to be closed for bridge replacement in Holmes County
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Monday, June 21, 2010) – State Route 643 will be closed to traffic Tuesday, July 6th, in Holmes County for a bridge replacement over an unnamed tributary to South Fork Sugar Creek.
SR 643 will be closed for 14 days just west of SR 93 and about one mile east of SR 557. Traffic will be detoured on SR 93 to SR 651 back to SR 643.
ODOT's contractor for this $272,586 project is Stanley Miller Construction Company from East Sparta, Ohio, and the overall completion date is August 31, 2010.
ODOT reminds motorists to SLOW DOWN for the "Cone Zone;" turn on headlights and drive carefully in work zones. Drive responsibly for your safety and the safety of the highway workers. Remember, fines in work zones are doubled for not obeying traffic signs. Minimize distractions – turn OFF cell phones in construction zones. Remember to always buckle up.
