U.S. Route 62 to be Restricted for Multiple Culvert Replacements West of Killbuck

(NEW PHILADELPHIA, OHIO) -- The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 11 began work last week to replace 10 culverts along U.S. Route 62 west of Killbuck in Holmes County.

Beginning Monday, July 6th, U.S. 62 will be restricted for two culvert replacements between SR 60 and SR 520. One, 11-foot lane for two-way traffic will be maintained with temporary traffic signals at both of these culvert locations.

Beginning Friday, July 10th, U.S. 62 will be closed on the weekends just west of the SR 520 intersection until the remaining eight culverts are completed. These are two-day weekend closures only -- from 8 p.m. on Fridays until 6 a.m. Monday mornings.

ODOT’s contractor for this $305,360 project is A Bonamase Contracting Inc., from Boardman, Ohio, and the completion date is September 30, 2009.

ODOT reminds motorists to SLOW DOWN for the "Cone Zone;" turn on headlights and drive carefully in work zones.  Drive responsibly for your safety and the safety of the highway workers.  Remember, fines in work zones are doubled for not obeying traffic signs. Minimize distractions – turn OFF cell phones in construction zones.   Remember to always buckle up.
