Belmont and Jefferson County bridges to be inspected next week
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Tuesday, June 22, 2010) – Bridges on Interstate 70, 470, and State Route 7 in Belmont and Jefferson County will be inspected next week during daytime hours by ODOT crews and a snooper truck, weather permitting.
On Monday, June 28th, both the I-70 east and westbound bridges over Spencer and County Road 102 will be inspected.
On Tuesday, June 29th, crews will inspect the I-470 bridge over SR 7.
On Wednesday, June 30th, the I-70 bridge ramp over the Marion Street complex will be inspected as well as the SR 7 bridge over the Wheeling Terminal Railroad.
On Thursday and Friday, July 1st and 2nd, crews will move to Jefferson County and inspect the SR 7 bridges over the Norfolk Southern Corp. Railroad near Brilliant and the SR 7 bridge over Township Road 167.
Traffic will be restricted but maintained at all of these locations during this work.
ODOT reminds motorists to SLOW DOWN for the "Cone Zone;" turn on headlights and drive carefully in work zones. Drive responsibly for your safety and the safety of the highway workers. Remember, fines in work zones are doubled for not obeying traffic signs. Minimize distractions – turn OFF cell phones in construction zones. Remember to always buckle up.
