Road 100 to be closed next week at I-70 bridge project
COUNTY – County Road 100 will be closed next week as part of the ongoing, $11
million Interstate 70 bridge replacement project at Lady Bend Hill near
U.S. Route 40 (Exit 204) between Morristown and Barnesville.
Starting at 7 AM, Thursday, June 29th,
CR 100 will be closed under I-70 for stone placement on the slopes under the
bridges. The road is expected to be reopened by 4 PM on July 5th.
Additionally, lane closures are expected
both east and westbound on I-70 in the upcoming weeks to switch
traffic back into its final configuration. However, weather permitting by the
end of next week, I-70 eastbound will have finished pavement with minimal
impacts to traffic, and the off-ramp (Exit 204) will be open before Jamboree in
All construction –
which began in August 2015 and included the replacement of twin, 372-foot
long bridges built in 1969 over Stillwater Creek and CR 100 – is expected to be completed by the end of July.
ODOT’s contractor is
Triton Construction Inc., from Nitro, West Virginia.
