Motorists Should Expect Delays Tomorrow Morning on State Route 7 Southbound for Work at the W.H. Sammis Plant
(NEW PHILADELPHIA, OHIO) -- State Route 7 southbound traffic will be stopped briefly tomorrow morning, Wednesday, June 24th, between Stratton Heights Road and the tunnel in Stratton, Jefferson County.
Around 7 a.m., the FirstEnergy Corp. will begin to move a crane from its current location near the tunnel to Stratton Heights Road to be dismantled. It was used for construction of their environmental control retrofit project at the company's W. H. Sammis Plant.
All four lanes of SR 7 are expected to be reopened to traffic in September 2009. It has been reduced to one lane in each direction since February 2008 to allow for this work.
