ODOT Seeks Comments on State Route 9 Bridge Replacement in Harrison County
(NEW PHILADELPHIA, OHIO) --The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 11 is proposing the replacement of a bridge on State Route 9 over an Unnamed Tributary to Clear Fork about four miles north of U.S. Route 22 in Harrison County.
The proposed project will completely replace the existing concrete slab bridge with a prefabricated concrete box culvert. Additionally, guardrail will be replaced, new headwalls and wingwalls will be constructed, and minimal pavement work will occur.
The road will be closed during construction, which is anticipated for next spring, and traffic will be detoured. New right of way will be required to complete the project.
ODOT is seeking comments from the public about the social, environmental and economic impacts of the proposed project. Environmental impacts include impacts associated with architectural and ecological resources, hazardous materials and the general location of the project.
Written comments concerning the project may be mailed to the Ohio Department of Transportation, District 11, Attention: Amber Hewitt, 2201 Reiser Avenue SE, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663. ODOT District 11 can also be contacted by telephone at 330-339-6633. All comments must be submitted by July 24, 2009.
