Work at the W.H. Sammis Plant Moved to Tomorrow
(NEW PHILADELPHIA, OHIO) --State Route 7 southbound traffic will not be stopped today at Stratton in Jefferson County; however, it will be stopped briefly tomorrow morning, June 25th, between Stratton Heights Road and the tunnel. The FirstEnergy Corp. has rescheduled the movement of a crane from today to tomorrow morning.
The crane, used for construction of the environmental control retrofit project at the company's W. H. Sammis Plant, is being moved from its current location near the tunnel to Stratton Heights Road to be dismantled.
All four lanes of SR 7 are expected to be reopened to traffic in September 2009. It has been reduced to one lane in each direction since February 2008 to allow for this work.
