U.S. Route 22 to be resurfaced in Jefferson County
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Wednesday, June 30, 2010) – Work will begin next week to resurface almost four miles of U.S. Route 22 in Jefferson County.
Beginning next Wednesday, July 7th, U.S. 22 will be resurfaced from the Harrison County line to just east of the SR 152/Bloomingdale Exit.
One lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction.
ODOT's contractor for this $2.8 million project is Shelly & Sands Inc., from Zanesville, Ohio, and the completion date is September 30, 2010.
ODOT reminds motorists to SLOW DOWN for the "Cone Zone;" turn on headlights and drive carefully in work zones. Drive responsibly for your safety and the safety of the highway workers. Remember, fines in work zones are doubled for not obeying traffic signs. Minimize distractions – turn OFF cell phones in construction zones. Remember to always buckle up.
