ODOT advises motorists: No left-turns onto Saltwell Road during construction
SR 45/Saltwell Road intersection improvement project underway north of Lisbon
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Monday, June 30, 2014) – Construction began in May to improve safety at the intersection of State Route 45 (North Market Street) and Saltwell Road (Township Road 867) north of Lisbon in Columbiana County.
Although traffic is being maintained, ODOT is reminding motorists that left-turns onto Saltwell Road from SR 45 are prohibited during construction for safety and to maintain traffic flow through the congested area.
Construction includes new sidewalks, retaining walls, curb ramps, and audible pedestrian signals. Two signal poles will also be installed in the northwest quadrant of the project area, and ADA compliant curb ramps will be constructed at crosswalks throughout the construction limits.
ODOT’s contractor for this $195,639 project is Central-Allied Enterprises Inc., from Canton, Ohio, and the completion date is July 2014.
