State Route 519 to be closed next week for bridge removal
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Tuesday, July 5, 2011) – State Route 519 will be closed to traffic next Wednesday, July 13th, for 21 days to allow for the removal of a bridge in Harrison County.
The SR 519 bridge is located just east of U.S. Route 22 over an abandoned coal haul road in the designated Jockey Hollow Wildlife Area. The bridge will be replaced with earthen fill, and new pavement will be installed in place of the structure and approach slabs.
Beginning at the intersection of SR 519 and U.S. 22, traffic will be detoured east on U.S. 22 to SR 9 south back to SR 519 in New Athens, and reverse.
ODOT's contractor for this $159,871 project is Dennison Bridge Inc., from Dennison, Ohio, and the completion date is October 31, 2011.
