Work to begin on State Route 9 resurfacing project
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Friday, July 08, 2016) – Work zone signs will go up next week on a six-mile stretch of State Route 9 in Carroll County for a resurfacing project scheduled to begin soon.
SR 9 will be resurfaced from about two miles south of Augusta to the Columbiana County line.
Traffic will be maintained with flaggers.
ODOT’s contractor for this $705,532 project is Superior Paving & Materials Inc., from North Canton, Ohio, and the completion date is October 31, 2016.
The Ohio Department of Transportation maintains the state's largest man-made asset – the transportation system. ODOT's mission is to provide the safe and easy movement of people and goods from place to place. As a $2.8 billion per year enterprise, ODOT invests the bulk of its resources in system preservation through maintenance, construction and snow and ice operations.
The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by ODOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 11, 2015, and executed by FHWA and ODOT.
