Tuscarawas County bridge inspections cancelled for next week
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Monday, July 11, 2016) – Bridge inspections scheduled for next week in Tuscarawas County have been cancelled due to equipment maintenance.
The following inspections will be rescheduled at a later date:
- Interstate 77 bridge south of Newcomerstown over County Road 4 (Stocker Ridge Rd.) and the State Route 258 bridge over the Tuscarawas River at Newcomerstown
- SR 39 (West High Ave.) bridge over the Tuscarawas River at the New Philadelphia Interchange
- Two county road bridges – one on CR 99 outside of Strasburg over the Sugarcreek, and one on CR 109 outside of Somerdale over the Conotton Creek
The Ohio Department of Transportation maintains the state's largest man-made asset – the transportation system. ODOT's mission is to provide the safe and easy movement of people and goods from place to place. As a $2.8 billion per year enterprise, ODOT invests the bulk of its resources in system preservation through maintenance, construction and snow and ice operations.
The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by ODOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 11, 2015, and executed by FHWA and ODOT.
