Northbound State Route 11 Traffic Delays Expected Wednesday Morning
(NEW PHILADELPHIA, OHIO) --Northbound State Route 11 traffic should expect some delays Wednesday morning, July 15th, as part of a bridge replacement on State Route 164 just north of Beeson Mill Road in Columbiana County.
ODOT's contractor, A P O'horo Company, from Youngstown, Ohio, will be erecting structural steel over the northbound lanes of the highway, beginning around 7 a.m. The Ohio State Highway Patrol will be stopping traffic for up to 15 minutes at a time. This work is expected to be completed by Wednesday afternoon. Southbound lanes will not be impacted during this work.
However, SR 164 remains closed until mid-August. Beginning at the intersection of SR 164 and SR 517, traffic is being detoured east on SR 517 to SR 7, then north on SR 7 to SR 14 west back to SR 164, and reverse.
Work began on this $1.36 million project at the end of May, and its completion date is mid-October 2009.
ODOT reminds motorists to SLOW DOWN for the "Cone Zone;" turn on headlights and drive carefully in work zones. Drive responsibly for your safety and the safety of the highway workers. Remember, fines in work zones are doubled for not obeying traffic signs. Minimize distractions – turn OFF cell phones in construction zones. Remember to always buckle up.
