Southbound SR 7 traffic delays expected at Rush Run next week
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Thursday, July 16, 2015) – Next Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, July 20th thru the 22nd, southbound State Route 7 traffic will be stopped intermittently at Rush Run in Jefferson County for work associated with the $16 million slope repair project that began this spring.
ODOT’s contractor, Kokosing Construction Company Inc., from Columbus, Ohio, will be extending the rock catchment wall, stopping southbound traffic periodically between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Motorists are urged to plan ahead to avoid delays or use an alternate route.
This project is approximately ½ mile in length and includes excavation and benching the failed rock face and wooded slopes above SR 7, pavement rehabilitation, and construction of a permanent rock catchment area.
The completion date for the entire project is October 31, 2016.
