Resurfacing Work to Begin Sunday Night on Interstate 70
(NEW PHILADELPHIA, OHIO) --The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 11 will begin work Sunday night, July 27th, to resurface just over three miles of Interstate 70 in Belmont County.
I-70 will be resurfaced from just west of the County Road 80 overpass to the County Road 56 overpass.
All work will take place between 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday evening through Friday morning. No work will take place during peak travel times.
One lane of traffic will be maintained during work hours.
ODOT’s contractor for this $3.4 million project is Shelly & Sands Inc., from Zanesville, Ohio, and the completion date is October 31, 2008.
ODOT reminds motorists to SLOW DOWN for the "Cone Zone;" turn on headlights and drive carefully in work zones. Drive responsibly for your safety and the safety of the highway workers. Remember, fines in work zones are doubled for not obeying traffic signs. Minimize distractions – turn OFF cell phones in construction zones. Remember to always buckle up.
