U.S. Route 30 road closure at Kensington delayed
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Monday, July 26, 2010) – The U.S. Route 30 road closure set for this Friday, July 30th, in Hanover Township, Columbiana County, has been delayed until Tuesday, August 3rd, due to the delivery of materials.
U.S. 30 is being closed for 15 days just west of the junction of SR 9 in Kensington for a bridge repair project over the Sandy Creek.
Beginning at the intersection of U.S. 30 and SR 183 in Minerva, traffic will be detoured north of SR 183 to SR 172 in New Franklin in Stark County, then east on SR 172 to SR 9 south in New Garden back to U.S. 30, and reverse.
ODOT's contractor for this $299,799 project is Buds Inc., from Nashport, Ohio, and the overall completion date is September 30, 2010.
ODOT reminds motorists to SLOW DOWN for the "Cone Zone;" turn on headlights and drive carefully in work zones. Drive responsibly for your safety and the safety of the highway workers. Remember, fines in work zones are doubled for not obeying traffic signs. Minimize distractions – turn OFF cell phones in construction zones. Remember to always buckle up.
