State Route 558 to be restricted for culvert replacements
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Monday, July 29, 2013) – State Route 558 will be restricted, beginning next Monday, August 5th, in Fairfield Township, Columbiana County for two culvert replacements.
Two separate culverts will be replaced between SR 11 and SR 7.
Beginning Monday, there will be an 11-foot width restriction at the first site between Bunker Hill Rd. and Lower Elkton Rd. during daytime hours. The second site located just west of SR 517 will be restricted on Monday, Aug. 12th. Two-way traffic will be maintained at both with flaggers.
To install the new culverts, SR 558 will be closed for 14 days on two occasions – once for each pipe. The first road closure is scheduled to begin on Monday, Aug. 19th and the second Sept. 9th.
Beginning at the intersection of SR 558 and SR 164, traffic will be detoured south on SR 164 to SR 517 east back to SR 558, and reverse.
ODOT’s contractor for this $318,000 project is Sheldon Gantt Inc., from Niles, Ohio. All work should be completed by November 2013.
