State Route 149 (Washington Street) to be Closed in Bellaire Tomorrow Night for Waterline Relocation
(NEW PHILADELPHIA, OHIO) -- State Route 149 (Washington Street) will be closed tomorrow night, July 31st, for a waterline relocation between 26th Street and Taney Avenue in Bellaire, Belmont County.
"Moving the existing waterline is required to allow for excavation of the new roadway slope as part of the SR 149 relocation project," said ODOT District 11 Deputy Director Richard Bible, P.E. "To minimize the inconvenience of this work, we coordinated with the village to perform it at night." Therefore, SR 149 (Washington Street) will be closed at the water tower between 10:30 p.m. Thursday night and 11 a.m. Friday morning.
No official detour will be posted. However, water service may be interrupted for residents and businesses in the village for up to eight hours, but the village will notify those in the affected areas.
ODOT’s contractor for this $5.7 million is Shelly & Sands, Inc., from Zanesville, Ohio, and the completion date is June 20, 2010.
