70 eastbound off-ramp to be closed
BELMONT COUNTY – The Interstate 70 eastbound
off-ramp at the ongoing $19.5 million, State Route 331 Interchange improvement
project will be closed on Monday, August 14th, for two weeks.
Eastbound I-70 traffic wishing to exit at
this location will be detoured to Exit 208 at
Morristown, then north on State Route 149 to U.S. Route 40 east to SR 331.
This ramp closure is required, while
ODOT’s contractor Shelly & Sands Inc., from Columbus, Ohio, performs full depth pavement removal and replacement as well as
drainage work and undercuts.
The off-ramp is expected to reopen by
Monday, August 28th.
Work began in April
of last year on this major interchange improvement project intended to reduce congestion and improve safety. The current completion
date for all work is July 31, 2018.
