West Street Bridge to be Closed in East Palestine for Replacement
(NEW PHILADELPHIA, OHIO) --The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 11 will begin work next Monday, August 11th, to replace the West Street bridge located over the Norfolk Southern Railway in the city of East Palestine, Columbiana County.
The bridge, located four blocks west of Market Street (State Route 170) between Martin Avenue and Grant Street, will be closed for 90 consecutive calendar days to allow for this work. A local detour route will be posted.
The project will include the replacement of the existing structure, new approach pavement and slabs, and sidewalk.
ODOT’s contractor for this $1.2 million project is BOG Construction Inc., from Berlin Center, Ohio, and the completion date is October 15, 2008.
