State Route 148 to be Restricted Next Week near Captina in Belmont County for Bridge Work
(NEW PHILADELPHIA, OHIO) --The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 11 will begin work next week to replace a bridge deck on State Route 148 over Moore's Run in Belmont County.
The bridge is located about five miles west of the SR 7 and SR 148 intersection at Powhatan Point.
SR 148 will be reduced to one, 11-foot lane with temporary traffic signals to maintain two-way traffic.
ODOT’s contractor for this $304,301 project is Ohio-West Virginia Excavating Co., from Powhatan Point, Ohio, and the completion date is October 15, 2008.
ODOT reminds motorists to SLOW DOWN for the "Cone Zone;" turn on headlights and drive carefully in work zones. Drive responsibly for your safety and the safety of the highway workers. Remember, fines in work zones are doubled for not obeying traffic signs. Minimize distractions – turn OFF cell phones in construction zones. Remember to always buckle up.
