County Road 51 and State Route 646 to be closed next week east of Germano in Harrison County
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Monday, August 6, 2012) – County Road 51 will be closed next Monday, August 13th, in Harrison County for approximately 60 days just south of State Route 646 for intersection realignment work.
A local detour will be posted.
Work began in May to improve the SR 646 intersection at CR 51 east of Germano.
Additionally, SR 646 will be closed for three days, beginning at 8 p.m. on Friday, August 17th, to remove the existing bridge and create an at grade intersection for SR 646 and CR 51.
Beginning at the intersection of SR 646 and SR 9, traffic will be detoured south on SR 9 to SR 151, then east on SR 151 to U.S. 22 east to SR 152 north back to SR 646, and reverse.
SR 646 will be reopened to traffic by 5 a.m. Monday, August 20th.
ODOT’s contractor for this $1.7 million project is Dennison Bridge Inc., from Dennison, Ohio. All construction is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
