State Route 644 to be closed next Monday east of Kensington for a bridge replacement
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Tuesday, August 06, 2013) – State Route 644 will be closed to traffic next Monday, August 12th, east of Kensington in Columbiana County for a bridge replacement project.
Beginning at the intersection of SR 644, SR 9, and U.S. Route 30 in Kensington, traffic will be detoured east on U.S. 30 to SR 164 south to SR 518 west back to SR 644, and reverse.
SR 644 will only be closed for seven calendar days. However, traffic may be restricted with flaggers during the remaining construction, while ODOT’s contractor, Marucci & Gaffney Excavating Co., from Youngstown, Ohio, replaces an existing concrete slab bridge with a box culvert.
The total cost for this project is $197,451, and the completion date is October 1, 2013.
