Work to begin on $9 million slope stabilization project above State Route 7 near Yellow Creek
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Tuesday, August 9, 2011) – Work is getting underway this week to stabilize the hillside above State Route 7 near Yellow Creek in Saline Township, Jefferson County, where rockfall closed all four lanes of the highway in March.
This week, ODOT’s contractor, Beaver Excavating Company, from Canton, Ohio, is beginning work on the crossover lighting. The goal is to switch southbound traffic over into the northbound lanes by the end of next week. At that time, one lane for traffic will be maintained in each direction on the northbound side.
The completion date for this $8,973,251 project is November 30, 2011.
