Interstate 70 eastbound traffic pattern in Belmont County construction work zone to be changed Thursday
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Tuesday, August 9, 2011) – Interstate 70 eastbound traffic will likely face delays all day Thursday, August 11th, in Belmont County, while the traffic pattern within the work zone on each side of Exit 208 is changed.
ODOT’s contractor, Kokosing Construction Company, from Columbus, Ohio, will be moving traffic into the final construction phase – one lane onto the new pavement.
This work is expected to begin around 7 a.m. and possibly take until midnight to complete. Additionally, there may be intermittent on and off ramp closures at Exit 208 between 7 and 10 p.m.
Officials advise motorists to use an alternate route, if possible, to avoid delays.
Westbound traffic will not be affected by this work.
The completion date for this $23 million major upgrade project is mid-November 2011.
