Interstate 70 westbound to be restricted next week at Guernsey County line for bridge deck repair
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Thursday, August 12, 2010) – Interstate 70 westbound will be reduced to one lane at the Belmont/Guernsey County line next week for bridge deck repair work.
ODOT's Belmont County maintenance crews will be making repairs, beginning at 9 a.m. Monday, August 16th, and expect to be completed by 3 p.m. Thursday, August 19th.
One lane of traffic will be maintained in the I-70 westbound passing lane. Eastbound lanes will not be affected by this work.
ODOT reminds motorists to SLOW DOWN for the "Cone Zone;" turn on headlights and drive carefully in work zones. Drive responsibly for your safety and the safety of the highway workers. Remember, fines in work zones are doubled for not obeying traffic signs. Minimize distractions – turn OFF cell phones in construction zones. Remember to always buckle up.
