State Route 9 to be closed next weekend for bridge removal
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Thursday, August 14, 2014) – State Route 9 will be closed to traffic next Friday, August 22nd, at 6 p.m., just south of County Road 29 at the entrance to the Harrison County Airport for removal of an overhead bridge.
The road will remain closed until 6 a.m. Monday, August 25th, while a construction crew removes and demolishes the overhead bridge owned by Consol Energy.
Beginning at the intersection of SR 9 and SR 519 in New Athens, traffic will be detoured east on SR 519 to U.S. 250 north/west to SR 9 in Cadiz, and reverse.
