State Route 558 to be Closed During Daytime Hours for Culvert Replacements
(NEW PHILADELPHIA, OHIO) --The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 11 will begin work next Wednesday, August 20th, to replace approximately 20 different culverts located under State Route 558 north of Lisbon and south of Salem in Columbiana County.
ODOT's Columbiana County maintenance crews will work to replace the culverts from the Franklin Square area to East Fairfield during daytime hours only.
SR 558 will be closed between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Traffic will be rerouted from the intersection of SR 558 and SR 45, south on SR 45 to SR 517, then east on SR 517 back to SR 558, and reverse.
This work, which is being completed in anticipation of a paving project scheduled for next summer, is expected to take approximately 21 days.
ODOT reminds motorists to SLOW DOWN for the "Cone Zone;" turn on headlights and drive carefully in work zones. Drive responsibly for your safety and the safety of the highway workers. Remember, fines in work zones are doubled for not obeying traffic signs. Minimize distractions – turn OFF cell phones in construction zones. Remember to always buckle up.
