Coral Rd. to close for week as part of intersection improvement project at Malvern
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Wednesday, August 17, 2016) – Coral Rd. (County Road 81) will be closed Monday, August 29th, for one week as part of the ongoing intersection improvements at State Route 43 (Canton Rd.) and State Route 183 (Alliance Rd.) near Malvern in Carroll County.
Coral Rd. (CR 81) traffic will be detoured on Kopp Rd. to SR 43 south/SR 183 north, then right onto SR 43 south, and reverse. The road is expected to be reopened on Friday, September 2nd.
Work includes construction of an exclusive northbound right-turn lane on SR 43 and reconstruction of the traffic island on Coral Rd. as well as the replacement of the existing traffic signals and highway lighting. New warning signs, guardrail, and pavement markings will also be installed.
ODOT’s contractor for this $605,000 project is Central-Allied Enterprises Inc., from Canton, Ohio.

The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by ODOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 11, 2015, and executed by FHWA and ODOT.
