ODOT Seeks Comments on Improvements to State Route 800 in Harrison County
(NEW PHILADELPHIA, OHIO) --The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 11 is proposing improvements to State Route 800 in Harrison County by replacing an existing culvert, which carries an unnamed tributary to Stillwater Creek, located about two miles south of the Tuscarawas County line.
The proposed project will completely replace the existing corrugated metal pipe with a concrete pipe, plus replace the guardrail, and install rock channel protection at the outlet of the new culvert.
The road will be closed during construction with a detour provided. Construction is expected to take place next spring. No new right of way will be required to complete the project.
ODOT is seeking comments from the public about the social, environmental and economic impacts of the proposed project. Environmental impacts include impacts associated with architectural and ecological resources, hazardous materials and the general location of the project.
Written comments concerning the project may be mailed to the Ohio Department of Transportation, District 11, Attention: Amber Hewitt, 2201 Reiser Avenue SE, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663. ODOT District 11 can also be contacted by telephone at 330-339-6633. All comments must be submitted by September 29, 2008.
