State Route 7 northbound to be closed to traffic Wednesday night for signal repairs
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Monday, August 30, 2010) – State Route 7 northbound will be closed to traffic at the U.S. Route 22 split just south of the traffic signal for the State Route 213 intersection in Jefferson County on Wednesday night, September 1st, to repair a traffic signal.
ODOT's maintenance crew will begin work at 8 p.m. to repair the loop detector for the signal and expect to be completed within 8 hours.
Beginning at the intersection of SR 7 and U.S. 22, traffic will be detoured west on U.S. 22 to the John Scott Highway Interchange, exit at John Scott Highway and get back on U.S. 22 eastbound back to SR 7 northbound.
Southbound lanes of SR 7 will not be affected.
ODOT reminds motorists to SLOW DOWN for the "Cone Zone;" turn on headlights and drive carefully in work zones. Drive responsibly for your safety and the safety of the highway workers. Remember, fines in work zones are doubled for not obeying traffic signs. Minimize distractions – turn OFF cell phones in construction zones. Remember to always buckle up.
