Interstate 70 westbound off-ramp at State Route 149 in Belmont County to be restricted Wednesday and Thursday nights this week
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Tuesday, August 31, 2010) – The Interstate 70 westbound off-ramp at State Route 149 will be restricted tomorrow and Thursday nights, weather permitting, for work associated with the five-mile, $23 million major upgrade of the interstate in Belmont County.
The I-70 westbound off-ramp will experience short duration closures and restrictions Wednesday, September 1st and Thursday, September 2nd between 6 and 10 p.m. for milling work and installation of the bond breaker asphalt in preparation for new a concrete surface.
No detour will be posted.
ODOT's contractor for this project is Kokosing Construction Company, from Columbus, Ohio, and the completion date is October 31, 2011.
ODOT reminds motorists to SLOW DOWN for the "Cone Zone;" turn on headlights and drive carefully in work zones. Drive responsibly for your safety and the safety of the highway workers. Remember, fines in work zones are doubled for not obeying traffic signs. Minimize distractions – turn OFF cell phones in construction zones. Remember to always buckle up.
