County Road 77 to be closed for work on Bunker Hill Intersection improvement project
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Tuesday, August 31, 2010) – County Road 77 will be closed to traffic on Monday, September 13th, for a week in Holmes County as part of the intersection improvement project at U.S. Route 62.
CR 77 will be closed from north of the Grace Mennonite Church driveway to 200 feet south of CR 168 while crews install a new culvert.
Traffic will be detoured on U.S. 62 and SR 39 through Berlin. The roadway is expected to be reopened to traffic by Monday, September 20th.
Work began last week on this $3 million project to reconstruct the intersection. ODOT's contractor is Fechko Excavating Inc., from Medina, Ohio, and the completion date is October 31, 2011.
ODOT reminds motorists to SLOW DOWN for the "Cone Zone;" turn on headlights and drive carefully in work zones. Drive responsibly for your safety and the safety of the highway workers. Remember, fines in work zones are doubled for not obeying traffic signs. Minimize distractions – turn OFF cell phones in construction zones. Remember to always buckle up.
