Resurfacing work to begin next week on State Route 9 in Carroll County

New Philadelphia, Ohio (Thursday, September 2, 2010)Resurfacing work will begin next Tuesday, September 7th, on State Route 9 in Carroll County.

About six miles of SR 9 will be resurfaced from County Road 38 (Brenner Rd.) just north of Carrollton to the railroad tracks south of Augusta. Traffic will be maintained with flaggers.

Also included in this $1.47 million resurfacing project is work on SR 164 and SR 518 in Columbiana County. Over five miles of SR 164 will be resurfaced from SR 39 to SR 518 at Gavers, and almost seven miles of SR 518 will be resurfaced from the intersection of SR 644 at Millport to County Road 413.

ODOT’s contractor is Superior Paving & Materials Inc., from North Canton, Ohio, and the completion date is October 15, 2010.

ODOT reminds motorists to SLOW DOWN for the "Cone Zone;" turn on headlights and drive carefully in work zones.  Drive responsibly for your safety and the safety of the highway workers.  Remember, fines in work zones are doubled for not obeying traffic signs. Minimize distractions – turn OFF cell phones in construction zones.  Remember to always buckle up.
