Dover intersection closure delayed one week due to weather
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Tuesday, September 28, 2010) – The planned intersection closure of S. Tuscarawas Avenue and W. Broadway Street in the city of Dover for next week is being delayed one week due to rain.
The intersection will now be closed October 11th for 14 days as part of the $3.9 million Tuscarawas Avenue Bridge replacement project that began in September 2009. The closure will allow the contractor to perform roadway improvements including new alignment, pavement, and sidewalks.
Traffic will be detoured onto Wooster Avenue, Union Avenue, and Martin Street.
The contractor for this project is Keffler Bridge Company, from Canfield, Ohio. All work is expected to be completed by mid-November 2010.
ODOT reminds motorists to SLOW DOWN for the "Cone Zone;" turn on headlights and drive carefully in work zones. Drive responsibly for your safety and the safety of the highway workers. Remember, fines in work zones are doubled for not obeying traffic signs. Minimize distractions – turn OFF cell phones in construction zones. Remember to always buckle up.
