SR 170 to be closed next week for culvert replacement project
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Monday, October 3, 2016) – State Route 170 will be closed next Monday, October 10th, north of Unity near the Mahoning County line in Columbiana County for a culvert replacement project.
SR 170 will be closed for five days, and traffic will be detoured on SR 165 to SR 617 east back to SR 170, and reverse.
ODOT’s contractor for this $402,000 project – which also includes culvert replacements on SR 172 and SR 151 in Harrison County – is Americon Industrial Services LLC, from Canfield, Ohio, and the completion date is October 31, 2016.
The Ohio Department of Transportation maintains the state's largest man-made asset – the transportation system. ODOT's mission is to provide the safe and easy movement of people and goods from place to place. As a $2.8 billion per year enterprise, ODOT invests the bulk of its resources in system preservation through maintenance, construction and snow and ice operations.
The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by ODOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 11, 2015, and executed by FHWA and ODOT.
