Resurfacing work resuming in New Philadelphia
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Monday, October 7, 2013) – Work is resuming this week on a resurfacing project in the city of New Philadelphia, Tuscarawas County.
State Routes 39 and 800 will be resurfaced, including 4th Street and Graff Rd. SE at New Towne Mall.
Milling will begin tonight on Graff Rd. SE at the mall. That area will then be paved Wednesday night, Oct. 9th.
Paving on SR 800 (4th Street) around the New Philadelphia High School is beginning tomorrow, Oct. 8th. This work will be done during daytime hours and include the section from West High Ave. to the Boulevard at Clubview Drive. Traffic will be maintained with flaggers.
Milling on SR 39, including West High Ave. to Beaver Ave., will begin tomorrow night, Oct. 8th at the New Philadelphia corp. line. Resurfacing will continue through Oct. 18th.
All work on SR 39 from Tuscarawas Ave. to the New Philadelphia east corp. line and including Graff Rd. will be performed at night between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m. “No Parking Signs” between 8:30 p.m. and 7:30 a.m. have been installed in these areas.
Traffic will be maintained with flaggers.
Work on 190 curb ramps throughout the project will also be done during daytime hours.
ODOT’s contractor for this $1.3 million project is the Shelly Company, from Twinsburg, Ohio, and the completion date is mid-November.
