Interstate 70 eastbound traffic in Belmont County may face delays tomorrow and Thursday
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Tuesday, October 11, 2011) – Interstate 70 eastbound traffic will likely face delays tomorrow, October 12th and/or Thursday, October 13th, weather depending, in Belmont County while the traffic pattern within the work zone on each side of Exit 208 is returned to normal.
ODOT’s contractor, Kokosing Construction Company, from Columbus, Ohio, will be installing permanent striping and moving traffic back into its normal lanes.
This work is expected to begin around 7 a.m. and possibly take until midnight to complete. Additionally, there will be intermittent on and off ramp closures at Exit 208 during nighttime hours.
Officials advise motorists to use an alternate route, if possible, to avoid delays.
Westbound traffic will not be affected by this work.
The completion date for this $23 million major upgrade project is mid-November 2011.
