Interstate 77 restricted over State Route 258 at Newcomerstown for bridge repairs
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Tuesday, October 12, 2010) – Interstate 77 northbound is reduced to one lane over State Route 258 at Newcomerstown in Tuscarawas County for bridge repairs today and tomorrow.
The southbound lanes are not affected. The closed lane should be reopened to traffic by Thursday morning, October 14th.
I-77 will be also restricted next week, beginning Monday, October 18th, over SR 212 at Bolivar for repairs in both the north and southbound lanes. Additionally, U.S. Route 250 westbound will be restricted just west of the Strasburg Interchange. ODOT's maintenance crews expect to complete this work by Friday, October 22nd.
ODOT reminds motorists to SLOW DOWN for the "Cone Zone;" turn on headlights and drive carefully in work zones. Drive responsibly for your safety and the safety of the highway workers. Remember, fines in work zones are doubled for not obeying traffic signs. Minimize distractions – turn OFF cell phones in construction zones. Remember to always buckle up.
