ODOT seeks comments on State Route 558 culvert replacement project in Columbiana County
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Friday, October 14, 2011) – The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 11 is proposing a culvert replacement project on State Route 558 in Fairfield Township, Columbiana County.
The proposed project will replace existing twin steel culverts built in 1962 and located east of SR 11with new concrete box culverts. The project will require minimal roadway approach work and minor new right of way acquisition at both locations.
Construction is anticipated for the spring of 2013. SR 558 will be detoured during the construction period at each culvert location. Notice of detour signs will be posted at least two weeks in advance of the scheduled road closure.
ODOT is seeking comments from the public about the social, environmental, and economic impacts of this proposed project. Environmental impacts could include those involving archeological, architectural and ecological resources, hazardous materials and the general location of the project.
