ODOT seeks comments on State Route 800 culvert replacement project in Belmont County
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Friday, October 14, 2011) – The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 11 is proposing a culvert replacement project on State Route 800 over the Hendrysburg Run channel located about a mile north of U.S. Route 40 in Belmont County.
The proposed project will replace the existing four-sided concrete, cast-in-place culvert built in 1947 with a precast concrete box culvert. The project will require minimal approach work.
Construction is anticipated for the spring of 2013. SR 800 will be detoured during the construction period. Notice of detour signs will be posted at least two weeks in advance of the scheduled road closure.
ODOT is seeking comments from the public about the social, environmental, and economic impacts of this proposed project. Environmental impacts could include those involving archeological, architectural and ecological resources, hazardous materials and the general location of the project.
Written comments concerning the project may be mailed to the Ohio Department of Transportation, District 11, Attention: Thomas E. Stratton, 2201 Reiser Avenue SE, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663. ODOT District 11 can also be contacted by telephone at 330-339-6633. All comments must be submitted by November 14, 2011.
