Interstate 70 westbound to be restricted west of St. Clairsville for overhead bridge repairs
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Monday, October 31, 2016) – Starting next Monday, November 7th, Interstate 70 westbound will have nightly lane closures west of Exit 215 for overhead bridge repairs in Belmont County.
Repairs will be made to the beams and cross members on the County Road 56 bridge located over the highway.
ODOT’s contractor for this $159,000 project is Armstrong Steel Erectors, Inc., from Newark, Ohio, and the completion date is November 30, 2016.
The Ohio Department of Transportation maintains the state's largest man-made asset – the transportation system. ODOT's mission is to provide the safe and easy movement of people and goods from place to place. As a $2.8 billion per year enterprise, ODOT invests the bulk of its resources in system preservation through maintenance, construction and snow and ice operations.
The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by ODOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 11, 2015, and executed by FHWA and ODOT.
