ODOT seeks comments on State Route 154 bridge replacement project in Columbiana County
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Monday, November 5, 2012) – The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 11 is proposing the replacement of a bridge on State Route 154 (Richardson Street) over Bull Creek in Middleton Township, Columbiana County, just west of the village of Negley.
The project will remove the existing four span bridge and replace it with a three span, pre-stressed concrete I-beam bridge. The project will also include the placement of rock channel protection, minor roadway approach work, widening of the shoulders to maintain traffic during construction, and resurfacing of the roadway.
Construction is anticipated for the spring of2014. Traffic will be maintained during construction utilizing part-width construction techniques. All work will take place within the existing highway right of way.
ODOT is seeking comments from the public about the social, environmental, and economic impacts of this proposed project. Environmental impacts could include those involving archaeological architectural and ecological resources, hazardous materials, and the general location of the project.
