State Route 542 traffic to be moved onto new alignment Monday
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Wednesday, November 12, 2014) – State Route 542 traffic in Carroll County will be moved onto its new alignment south of Magnolia on Monday, November 17th.
Work began this past spring on the $1.5 million safety improvement project that has realigned approximately 2,200 feet of the roadway, eliminating a bad curve.
Traffic will continue to be maintained in one lane with temporary traffic signals at the tie-in locations on each end of the project.
Weather permitting, ODOT’s contractor, Dennison Bridge Inc., from Dennison, Ohio, hopes to have the roadway completely reopened to two lanes with two-way traffic by Thanksgiving.
